VSC IT is upgrading Duo Security, our multi-factor authentication service, to enhance our security and user experience. Over the next two months, we will transition to a new login page and a new Duo Security prompt. The login experience will look very similar to the old one but will look slightly different. This work cannot be performed all at once, so we will be individually transitioning each software system (e.g. Canvas, Office 365, portal). This means you will continue to see both the old login page and the new one throughout the two-month period. We do not anticipate any significant downtime as a result of this work. You can learn more about the new Duo Universal Prompt by visiting the VSC IT Support site or opening a Service Desk ticket for support and additional questions.
UPGRADE DETAILS
- System Affected: The VSC Authentication page and Duo Security multi-factor prompt.
- Starting: 2/12/24
- Expected completion date: 3/30/24
IMPACT
- There is no expected downtime as we move systems to use the new environment.
- Everyone within the VSC could start to see the new login experience as early as 2/12/24, and IT will email more details in advance.
- No action is needed by anyone. This will not require a password reset or to reconfigure your Duo settings.
- The old and new login experiences are independent, so you will be prompted by Duo more often during this time. We appreciate your patience.
NEXT STEPS
- Stay Tuned: Watch for a more thorough email update within a week, the VSC IT Support Site for resources, and the Portal for additional information.
- Questions/Assistance: Contact support by entering a ServiceDesk ticket.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to providing everyone a better authentication experience.
