We are excited to be sharing information on our new customer-oriented IT Shared Services organization! As part of transformation for the Vermont State Colleges system, we have been working hard to deliver on strategic objectives and restructure how administrative services across the system are provided. Shared services units allow for more specialization and increase capacity in technical roles. This change in structure leads to better customer-service to students, faculty, and staff and allows us to focus is on the unique processes, systems, and data needed to ensure the intended outcomes are consistent.

Since June of 2022, the IT Shared Services team has been working hard to reorganize into an organizational structure that is built around prioritized service areas. We have spent months reviewing our services, identifying opportunities for alignment, and working towards Service Level Agreements to better communicate and align our services with our community needs. IT Shared Services seeks to be a strategic partner in advancing the missions of both the individual colleges and the system. This new IT structure allows for more flexibility and agility to adapt to our ever-changing needs. A summary of our work over the past six months and forthcoming can be found below.
