Vermont State University recommendations
Students attending Vermont State University must own a laptop that meets or exceeds the minimum specifications of their Student Technology Requirement. More information on this requirement, including the detailed computer specifications can be found on the Vermont State Student Tech Requirement – Vermont State University page.
Community College of Vermont recommendations
CCV does not require students to have a laptop, but does outline recommended specifications. These specifications may differ depending on your area of study, so you may wish to check with your advisor to ensure your computer will meet the standards of that particular program. More information can be found on the CCV computer recommendations page.

Nursing students are required to use the Respondus LockDown Browser. As of spring 2024, Respondus does not support ChromeOS or iOS so you are required to use either a Windows or MacOS based machine. Chromebooks, iPads, or other tablets are not supported for taking tests.
