Your VSC password will automatically expire 365 days after the last time you set it. While it’s best to reset your password before it expires there are cases where that deadline may be missed, or you may forget your password entirely. The article below outlines how to both change your password before it expires and use the self-service password reset process if the password is forgotten or not reset in time.

Change your password
If you are still able to log in to your VSC account and wish to change your password before it expires follow the steps below.
Navigate to our Account Management website and select the My Passwords option:

Upon selecting My Passwords you will be presented with a form to set and confirm a new password. The password rules can be viewed by clicking within the password field, and the strength of the password can be seen at the bottom of that form:

If successful you will see an alert in the top right corner of the page, otherwise you will be shown which password complexity rules were violated and be prompted to create a stronger password:

Reset a forgotten or expired password
If you have forgotten your password or did not change it before it expired you will need to use our self-service password reset tool. To begin, click the “Forgot my Password” link found just under the password field on the login page:

You will now be prompted for either your VSC username or your VSC ID number:

In the next step we’ll verify your identity by either sending a PIN to your personal email or cell phone, or by answering a number of challenge questions that were set when you first claimed your account:

After entering that PIN or answering your security questions you will then be presented with a form to set and confirm your new password.
