Microsoft’s Teams is a chat program, file repository, and collaboration tool used across the VSC. Teams can be utilized by groups of people–academic departments, committees, project teams, etc–to stay in touch and work collaboratively on documents without needing to be in the same physical space.
The Teams application can be installed on any laptop or desktop computer, on mobile devices, and can even be accessed via the web as part of the Office 365 suite. However, to get started with Teams you will need to contact the Helpdesk (https://servicedesk.vsc.edu) so we can create the Team–once created the Team Owner will be able to add and remove members and features at will.
A basic overview of the features and functions of Teams can be found on Microsoft’s site: Microsoft’s Teams Basics. In addition, our Instructional Support groups regularly host trainings on Teams, and users are always welcome to contact the Helpdesk for just-in-time trainings or if you have any questions or other support needs.
