At the Vermont State Colleges, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. The Public Safety departments at the Community College of Vermont (CCV) and Vermont State University (VTSU) use the emergency notification system, Rave, to ensure notifications reach you quickly and reliably.
Automatic enrollment
To ensure you receive critical information when it matters most, we automatically enroll you in Rave. Automatic enrollment uses both:
- Your school email address
- Your mobile phone number
This means that you will be promptly alerted in the case of an emergency.
Opt-out
We understand that communication preferences vary, and you have the option to opt out of receiving text messages to your mobile phone. However, we highly recommend staying opted in to ensure your safety and that you stay informed during emergencies.
Exclusively for emergencies
This system will only be used for emergencies, such as:
- Severe weather alerts
- Campus lockdowns
- Other significant incidents that require your immediate attention and response
Events that do not classify as emergencies will NOT be used by this system. Some examples of non-emergencies include campus conferences and events, academic information, planned maintenance, routine campus notifications, or construction.
