Students, faculty, and staff at the Community College of Vermont and Vermont State University need to activate their accounts before accessing Vermont State Colleges’ services. The process involves verifying your identity and creating your VSC password.
To activate your account navigate to https://www.vsc.edu/activate and follow the instructions on the page. You will need the following information to complete this process:
- First Name (or chosen name if you have reported a chosen name to us)
- Last Name
- Birth Date
- College ID (How do I find my seven digit College ID number?)

You will be prompted to create security questions and a password for your account. The security questions can be used during the password reset process, as well as identity verification when contacting the Helpdesk.
Please note, if you have already activated your VSC account at another VSC school, you won’t need to activate it again. You can log in with the same username and password.
If you get the following error while activating, your account is already active.

Your account has been claimed. Please contact your administrator.
If you receive the error above, please reset your password to regain access to your account.
